Week of 11/3 - 11/7

This week, I finished up making my UFO design, and it looked pretty much how I wanted it to. It looked kind of basic when I first made it, though, so I added in some windows around the top of it. I wanted to add in a little alien, but I realized it would be too small for it to accurately print, and the magnet was also in the way.

I then printed it, and at first, when it came out, the magnet was a very tight fit, even though when I measured, I gave it a little bit of extra room. I realized this was because of a little stick I had added onto it, but once I took it off, it hovered in place and looked really cool.

I wanted to make another attachment, though, and I decided to make a balloon. I used this as inspiration, though I will not be making the bombs or the skeleton. I was fiddling around with fusion, trying to figure out how I should make it, and I ended up using a form, which took a bit of experimenting with, but I managed to get it to turn out well.

I started with the balloon part of it, and at first I thought that I would also model the strings, but then I realized I could instead just use actual strings, and attach the bottom of the hot air balloon that way as well. I deleted the modeled ropes I had since they weren't needed anymore, but I kept the indentation since that is where I will tie the strings.

I was also thinking about what I would do after this, and I've been playing a new game recently, and wanted to do something with that. I decided that making a spider robot would be cool and a good final challenge for senior year. I plan on researching more about how to make one, and if all goes well, then I will start it next week.
