I started this week by cutting and sanding pegs for the board from a wooden dowel, which took a long time but it looks better and it was easier to get them to fit. I originally cut the dowel with the bandsaw but the pieces were breaking too much and they weren't neat enough so I ended up using a hacksaw which worked much better.
I also glued together the board and the back of it, as well as the pegs so that they would stay in place. I originally only clamped the corners but that resulted in the sides not gluing together so I clamped those together and the problem was solved.
I ended this week by designing the Archimedes screw that I plan to use to transport the balls back up to the top. I also designed the end of it so that it could connect to a motor so that the board would be automated. I am also thinking of possibly creating different buttons so that there can be different modes of ball dispersion. e.g. constant flow, 5 balls then stop, 1 ball then stop. I also plan on making the base for the board so that it will stand at 30 degrees without needing to be held up.
