Week of 4/1 - 4/4

This week, I started by printing out the spinner design I had created last Friday since the arms in the previous spinner didn't work very well and made the magnet very unstable and not able to spin well before falling off. This new design should hopefully work much better since it is just able to let the magnet rest on top of it and doesn't need the arms to hold it down. I also redesigned the plate that holds it in place to make it a little smaller so that it was easier to take in and out. I think I still have to redesign it a little since it is cumbersome to hold it in place, but for right now, it is working well. While it was printing I decided to clean out my box that hadsome failed prints and cuts and after I had thrown those away and emptied my box of any loose screws and standoffs my box looked a lot nicer and it turned out to be very productive. After the print finished I came to the realization that the screw hole was still too small, as I could fir thr magnet inside of it but it was a very tight fit and didnt get released very easiliy. To fix this, I simply used an Exactoo knife and shaved down just a little bit in the hole so it was the perfect diameter. I also had to resolder my motor since the ground and power wires fell off (two separate times), but now that I have resoldered both, the wire shouldn't break anymore, and I won't have to deal with that anymore. I also started designing the wings for my future plane project, which turned out pretty well,l, and I also included flaps for the plane to turn, which I plan to move with small servo motors. I also picked out those motors, and I plan on using 3: two for the wings and the last one for the tail so it can change its height. One issue I ran into with the spinner was that even through the entire contraption the magnet was still attracted to the bearings and screws on the other side so I will have to remove those fom my design in the future. I finally got to test it though, and it finally works. This took a long time to get working, and I am happy I got it after all this time. I still need to make some changes to it, so I am not done, but I got the first test to work, which I am happy about.
