Week of 10/7 - 10/11

This week I began by printing out the other half of the Archimedes screw which took a long time but I finally tried using a raft to print it which solved the issues I had been having before. The new prints came out well and I could finally glue them together. I researched what was the best way to glue pla and found that superglue would probably work the best for what I was attempting so I used superglue and it came out well.

After that, I needed a way to connect the screw to the motor so I printed out a motor connector that I designed and glued that to the screw which was a little harder since I had to make sure it was centered but now it works very well. I also tested out using the screw in the PVC pipe and the diameter matched very well which was satisfying. The screw also works at a 30-degree incline which is what I wanted. I still need to design a way to put the ball into the screw and get it out so I will work on that next week. I'll also have to cut the PVC pipe as right now it is longer than the screw. Making a way to attach the motor to the pip will also be important so I will begin in those next week and Friday.

This week I also finished working on the Plinko board base so that it will always be at 30-degrees. This is the perfect angle that I found so that the ball doesn't get stuck or go too fast when on the board.
