Week of 1/7 - 1/10

After getting back from break, the materials for my project finally arrived so I got to work creating the electromagnet and circuit. I put the steel rod on the larger and wrapped the magnet wire around it so there was 4 layers of wire around it. Then I tested it to see how well it would attract and it works perfect for what I intend to do. It is much stronger than my previous electromagnets and can attract a magnet on the ground from in the air.

After testing the electromagnet and seeing how long it could stay on without getting hot, a long time, I got to work creating the circuit. The circuit itself was pretty complicated so it took me 2 days in order to finish it, and even then it still needs some finishing touches. I had some issues with the mosfet not working but everything else seemed to work fine. I was testing with a multimeter and some parts were broken, it once i replaced them it worked fine except for the electromagnet.
